Default Reunion Tower reopening- when???

Hey, I was planning to take a trip down to Texas next summer, and it seems that the Reunion Tower in Dallas is closed for renovation, but it does not say when it will reopen. When will it, because I really want to go in the tower without paying the hefty prices at the restaraunt (well that's what i heard).

Unfortunately, the observation deck may never reopen to the public, at least that's the latest word - a really bad decision if it's true, IMO!

As you mentioned, th
e restaurant is open and, according to this latest thread, you can instead go for happy hour there (5:30-7:00 p.m. M-Th) without doing dinner at the restaurant (note the dress code listed).

Ugh, that's awful. That's one of the only cheap cool things to do in downtown Dallas.

It's still closed? Wow, well then are there any other observation decks or lookout points in Dallas?

I am surprised the city can't step in some how on this and get the observation deck reopened. That was one of the main things tourists did when they came downtown. Anytime I took out of towners there, their would be tons of people down there. What is the reason for its closing?

I bet the restaurant wants it shut down. That way they can make money on the people who want to go up there. Its all about $$$$$ just like everything else.

By next year, the new Centennial Tower in Fair Park should be open. Though, that sky view of the area will not be free, either.

State Fair of Texas opts to debut 500-foot-tall tower ride in May 2013, not September as originally planned | City Hall Blog

Reunion Tower will reopen this fall after major renovations and some technological additions. Should be a cool little tourist attraction now.

D Real Estate Daily » Blog Archive » Big Changes Ahead for Reunion Tower

With the opening of Summer Adventures at Fair Park (Summer Adventures in Fair Park | Family Fun all Summer Long!) this weekend, Klyde Warren Park, and the Perot Museum, there are now some worthwhile things for visitors with families to do in central Dallas beyond the 6th Floor Museum, the art museums, and the aquarium.

Great news, TrueDat, thanks for posting!

A little slow... eh, a LOT slow in coming... but really glad to hear that it will reopen, even after so long a time!
