Any Rangers fans going to the game series in Oakland? Wearing Rangers stuff? Think we will be safe wearing Rangers stuff?

I posted in SFO forum and got mixed reviews. We will be there on vacation and thought the final game series of the season would be fun, but have heard so much bad stuff about Oakland that I am unusually concerned (usually I don't believe what people say about "bad areas").

We watch Ranger Games a lot and they always show plenty of Ranger fans wearing their hats and jerseys. Good chance they might make a cameo of you during the game. You will be surprised at how many Ranger fans attend the games.

I'm not as familiar with Northern California/ Bay Area as I am with So Cal, but I do know that some parts of Oakland are quite unfriendly. I would honestly say that so long as you don't start **** with A's fans and don't go down dark alleys in the bad part of town, you should be OK. Not sure how many Raiders fans are A's fans.

I also know that the guy who was beaten to a pulp at Dodger Stadium a couple of years back was wearing Giants gear. Now, Nor Cal/ So Cal rivalries are stupid but then again, Dodger's fans aren't the brightest crayons in the box.

You could play it safe and not chance it in a "foreign" land known for gangs. At the same time, I don't wish any harm upon anyone but I would be satisfied if you reported back that you received some nonviolent heckling for being from TX. I get enough crap out here and on these forums for advertising that I'm from CA, I'd love to see some Texans get heckled. Again, in fun, non violent, etc...
