Hello,
We want to buy a new car, but the ONLY day off my husband has is Sunday.
We live in Austin, but none are open then.

We will go anywhere in TX to look.

Do you know of any Toyota Dealerships that are open on Sunday?

Thank you!

I doubt there are any normally open on Sundays but there was a guy in Longview that said he would meet you anytime if you were truly interested in buying a car. You might be able to set up an appointment with someone.

Blame the Texas Blue Laws for no car dealerships open on Sundays.

The local Chrysler dealer that I just bought a car from is open Sunday. The blue laws just assure that their closed one weekend day. It doesn't matter if it's Saturday or Sunday.

Don't know of a Toyota dealer open. I bet if you call a dealer and tell him your predicament that they'll make arrangements for you.

Many times they are open on Holiday weekends as I think that is an exception in the Blue Laws. This is a holiday weekend, so I'm surprised you're not finding them opened.

Moderator cut: Off-Topic They usually stay open past 9pm to help accommodate people who can't look at cars during the day or weekend.

My brother is car shopping as well and most in the area seem to close on Sundays.

It sounds like the OP knows what it wants. Try Internet departments for car dealerships. They operate outside the normal boundries of the normal sales department.

Default Thank you everyone :D

Yes, the Blue Laws make it difficult for those who have only Sunday off...

We actually live in Austin and there are fewer dealerships here of course

He will have to take a day off w/o pay to do our search which is, a bummer, but it is what it is.

Thank you so much for helping!

Moderator cut: see comment I have heard of some dealerships that do the Sunday instead of Saturday thing to abide by the blue laws but for the most part they have quit the practice as most people know Saturday is the big day for car shopping. I for one appreciate not having to work on a Sunday, will find another career if that changes.

Hi
Thank you for the reply!
My husband has his heart set on an Avalon...has for a long, long time
We are re-locating to North Carolina, and love that in his new job he will have a second day off for this type of thing.

We like the Sundays off for church and after church get togethers...and sporting events etc. as well so we appreciate it, just are desperate right now LOL

We will just have to deal with it
