My husband and I are taking a trip out to Dallas and are looking to find a great location agent to guide us around.
We are interested to learn about the different areas, schools etc.

Folks, remember you cannot post the names of realtors per the TOS. You can send the OP a direct message.

Realtors are welcome here but do see our Realtor Advice to avoid infractions.

Most realtors show you areas to sell you a home. And, typically, a realtor will have special knowledge of specific -- not all -- areas. Considering the price of fuel and the unlikeliness that this trip will result in you purchasing a property, I do not believe you will have luck finding someone to give you the tour you desire. It may make sense for you to determine ahead what you find of interest as far as location for work commute, kinds of schools, kind of living situation and budget and then seek suggestions here about areas to look at.

Some of the larger Real Estate companies have a relocation department whom
specialize on assisting customers in your circumstance.
Usually realtors want to meet with you and pinpoint one or two
houses you may interested in and ensure you have the proper funding/paperwork etc. ready.

We have specific areas in mind... Plano, Mckinney, Allen and Frisco. My husband will be seeking employment as a police officer either in Plano or Irving areas. I have worked in the corporate apparel industry and will probably have to commute closer to the city center.
No this trip will not result in us buying a property as we are looking to rent first and either buy or build a custom home a few years from now. We are looking to build a relationship with a realtor and it's fine if they don't want to waste their time with us..... Their are many who would and word of mouth and recommendations are a lot of what drives their business.

Most good buyers agents are very familiar with your situation and will willingly give a "Tour of Cities". An agent who knows their stuff can educate you in a 4-5 hour period.

It's something we do all the time.
