i get a job near President George Bush Turnpike and John w. Caperter Fwy. and now i live near Coit&PGBT. I don't like driving much. so would you please give some advice on:
1) if I drive from the place i live right now to work, take the PGBT, about how long it will take(peak hour) and how much?
2) is there any safe and not too expensive complex near President George Bush Turnpike & John w. Caperter Fwy?
3) move or commute?

thanks a lot!

If you have no ties to your current area, I would recommend moving. Las Colinas has an abundant supply of apartment complexes with varying price ranges.

Focus on apartments in zip code 75063. Some apartments in 75038 and 75062 can be ok, others pretty marginal. Avoid apartments west of Story Rd. on Walnut Hill. Avoid apartments south of 183 (exception: Beverly Oaks is a nice townhouse community where you can sometimes find a nice rental) Most of the nicer areas are close to Carpenter (hwy 114) or LBJ (hwy 635) and pretty close to MacArthur or O'Connor. Not so much too close to Belt Line unless north of 114.

If you're renting, definitely move when your lease is up. Squirl is spot on regarding apartments in my view. If you own a home I don't think you'd get anything nicer in Irving than what you have right now.

If you were living here with a home and school going kids then answer would be no but in your circumstances it makes sense. My logic for not moving everything to cut 30 minutes of commute is to why risk going topsy turvy for a job that may not last long.
