I'm transferring to Dallas in April/Early May with my employer which I'm very grateful for. The only stipulation is that I need to enroll in x number of college credit courses in order to retain my current pay and senority. What are the largest Community Colleges in the area? I need to take just a couple more courses before moving on to the university level for Architectural design courses.

Looks like I'll be living in the Richardson or Addison areas and there is an outside chance of maybe the Las Colinas vicinity.

Thanks in advance!

Richland College is fairly large. Part of the Dallas Community Colleges. If not Richland, try Brookhaven.

Avoid El Centro which is located downtown. Eastfield is alright, although its in Mesquite. Both are part of DCCCD. I've heard that Collin County CC, or Collin College what its called now, are far more pricey and snoody. DCCCD and CC offer online classes if that might be helpful as well.

Richland/Brookhaven sound like options for you, OP. Collin County is another CC but I'd do DCCCD. Depending on the courses you're taking, universities may transfer those credits.

Good luck!

As stated above, for the Richardson/Addison areas, then the Richland or Brookhaven campuses would be the closest. However, if you'll be in the Las Colinas area, look at North Lake which would be most convenient.

See:
Dallas Community College District
a.nd:Brookhaven Community College
and: North Lake Community College
and: Richland Community College
.

There's nothing pricy or snooty about Collin College, other than out-of-county people are charged more. SMU, it ain't.

Having taught at both Richland and Collin, I'd recommend Richland - adjuncts are of higher quality and students are more focused.

Collin is one of the cheapest CCs in the country... so I have no idea why someone would say it's expensive?

I second Richland College or Brookhaven College, but I am also biased since I work with the Dallas County Community College District.
