Is there any way to search for a Dallas apartment by school that I want my daughter to go to? I really want her to go to Lakewood Elementary or Stonewall Jackson. I guess I could call each apartment and find out which school zone they are in, but surely there is an easier way??

These are the current attendance zone maps for Lakewood & Stonewall attendance zones. I would recommend printing them out and driving around, taking note of the apartments that look promising in those zones. There are a ton of apartments zoned to Stonewall south of Lovers / north of Mockingbird, between Skillman & 75. I'd prob start there as you'll have a wide variety of price points and newer and older complexes to search in.

For Stonewall, the apartments are mainly in the northern section of the attendance zone. In Lakewood, they are at the southern end (and not as many). For Lakewood you basically can choose from some along Gaston and Winstead down next to East Grand/Garland Road near the spillway at the lake or off Brookside next to Lakewood Country Club golf course and the entrance to Hollywood Heights. Just east of the Woodrow and Long campuses - the Santa Fe Trail also runs along there..

Check out the "Demographic Studies" map from the DISD website and cross-reference it with the attendance-zone maps that TurtleCreek80 linked -- it looks like this map actually includes the names of apartments like the ones Lakewooder mentioned...

Just from looking at the map (don't quote me!) it looks like the ones in Lakewood include Winsted at White Rock, Edge at White Rock, Verandahs at White Rock, San Mateo Forest, Lakewood Oaks, and the ones in Stonewall include the Lofts at Mockingbird Station, the Phoenix Midtown, and a whole bunch more north of the DART rail and south of Lovers...

When I was house hunting a few years ago, I may color-coded overlays using Google Maps for different 'desirable' elementary school zones.

What is the name of this neighborhood? It's the perfect location! I'm definitely moving here this June. Thanks!
