For short term sale, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. The DFW area didn't have the massive problems other areas of the country experienced so you won't find people that desperate to unload properties just to get out from under them and there are not entire devleopments full of vacant homes like FL, AZ, NV and CA.

Good resale potential over the long term would be in the Dallas neighborhoods you see pop up on here all of the time when people ask where to move: highland park, prestonwood, lakewood etc. By good, I mean you likely won't lose money and the property would sell quickly if you kept it updated and maintained.
Residential real estate isn't really the kind of thing that you should look at as an investment unless it's an apartment building
