Default Townhomes in Highland Village?

I thought I read somewhere that there is a plan to put in about 40 townhomes in Highland Village in the near future? Does anyone know anything about this? Also, does anyone have suggestions on the best place for 60-somethings to live? I'm inquiring on behalf of my parents who are thinking of getting something small to live near us in Dallas, while keeping their "summer" home in Florida. Thanks!

I'm not sure about the finish dates, but yes, there are plans to put a townhome development on 407 near Briarhill Middle School and I believe some more near the new Highland Village Shopping Center (or whatever it's called). FWIW, I'm sure they will be terribly overpriced per sq ft.

My mom and I visited this NEW place in Richardson over the holidays that is off of Beltline, East of 75 and before you get to Plano Pkwy, by Audelia (and Dorothy?). By new, I mean the paint is still drying, so they would probably get their pick of floor plans. They are basically luxury apartments (like Post Addison Circle and Plano), but for an older crowd with planned activites, optional meals and transportation. There is also a stronger sense of community and someone to check on you.

The Post Properties are nice as well because you can walk to so many things. Life is so anonymous that no one ever noticed when I traveled, so I wasn't concerned about break-ins like I was everywhere else that I have ever lived. The Addison Police Department also has an annex station out there. But if you need someone to check up on you and/or you want to connect with your neighbors it may not be a great place for you. The awesome things about it are: that they background check everyone, it was a fob only community, well-lit, I always felt safe there, annual Oktoberfest (every September), and you can rent or buy. The rent in Addison is about $1.00/sq foot.

I hope that this helps.
