Default Former Wylie resident

I lived in Wylie for about 7 yrs as a single person. LOVED it. Close enough to Dallas, Plano etc for any shopping, restaurants, museums or night life you may want and got a home for myself for $81,500 (about 10 yrs ago now) and sold for $118,500 2 years ago. Choice Homes builds many homes there. Downtown Wylie is one street with several cute shops and friendly people. Don't know much about the schools as I taught in Plano ISD which is a top notch district. Wylie and Sachse are growing faster than you can blink and the traffic on 78 is a nightmare during rush hour but there are several alternatives and the Dallas area in general is congested but you get used to it. To sum it up, Wylie has affordable housing, good shopping nearby and decent people. Miss it!

Momof2 - I found The Villages of Valley Creek. Looks very nice, and there were some homes in my range. I'm having a hard time finding Valley Creek Estates. Can you tell me some of the main streets in that area? Many thanks.

Valley Creek Estates is right across Firewheel Pkwy from The Villages of Valley Creek. Some of the streets are Covington, Lordsburg, Kingsbury, Essex & Crosslands. It is not a big neighborhood at all. The homes are about 2x the size as those in Villages of Valley Creek and built the same time. Behind this neighborhood is a newer one that it kind of melds in with.

I wonder if the eastern expansion of George Bush tollway will have an effect on those neighborhoods. Thoughts??

It will help them out and keep the values up. Anything around a tollroad tends to fare well in the market. I don't know what it shows on the map but right now 190 stops just a few blocks from there. Once that is finished it will make the traffic around that area MUCH easier. Right now it all gets dumped onto Firewheel Pkwy. Firewheel Pkwy will not change but the highway will go back to the north of those neighborhoods so it won't be much closer than it is now. I'm actually closer to 190 here in Firewheel than those houses will be.
