Always thought it was Independence. But either way they're adjacent to each other and separated by 4 blocks.

East Plano is east of US75/Central Expressway.
West Plano is west of Coit Road.
Central Plano is between US75 and Coit Road.

The divides pretty much follow the attendance zones for the three senior high schools. Coit is the main road that follows the zone descriptions.

But under the high school zone , the north west of Plano starts at Custer.

I said that the divides "pretty much follow" the attendance zones, not exactly follow. Attendance zones are seldom that neat and square.

It is hard to understand what logic Texas used for mapping school districts.

In general conversation, if someone mentions East Plano, I think of east of 75. Conversely, West Plano is west of Coit. And I don't live in Plano, don't know the school borders, don't know if anyone has officially determined what constitutes which... just my personal definition.

They didn't use logic, they used politics.

I agree , I'm just laughing , like I said in a previous post , West is more of a real estate perception , it keeps changing all the time
