Then it might just work for you. That would not be a horrible commute. If you were driving to downtown Dallas, or even to Plano, Lantana would be too far out.

Lantana is about developed out and I've had many of my Las Colinas clients purchase there. I like it with the hills and trees.

Great family community with very affordable homes. Commuting to Lewisville should be a breeze.

The only think I don't like is the Denton schools. I've heard they have high taxes as well, but I cannot say that for sure.

I would check out Flower Mound or Highland Village. I don't know what your budget is but there are lots of great houses in those two towns. We almost moved to Lanatana years ago and I'm so glad we didn't. The schools in FloMo/Highland Village are so much better. We also didn't like how close together all the houses were in Lantana.

Not sure where you get this information. There are 2 self contained elementaries and a middle school in Lantana. Like Castlehills, there is also a 1% charge on every home sold that feeds to the local schools. This gives them more money to do their job.

The average price of homes in Lantana is much higher than FM and HV so the type of people that feed those shools are usually more of the professional types. The schools are good schools.

Then how about this qualification to that statement. The elementary and middle schools are good, the high school is not on par with the FM portion of LISD.

Lantanta is way out on the edge of the prairie??? The Master Planned Lantana next to Highland Village I am thinking of is certainly not located on the edge of the Prairie.

We have been there twice for Birthday Parties...Really nice community, great amenities, nice location.A bit land locked like most of Flower Mound and Highland Village....Easy access to shooping and entertainment within a few minutes. If you are working in lEwisville, you could easily do the commute.
