I go to lunch in deep ellum almost on a daily basis. I go to twisted root, angry dog, uncle ubbers, and a couple other places but never tried cane russo. Ill have to go there and check it out. I normally go to Mama Mias for pizza.

Tell me more about them since they are coming to Plano?

Sounds like good support for Cane Rosso if they should change their mind.... in the mean time its Fireside Pies in Legacy for me. I just wish they were open for lunch as well.

Menu | Newk's Express Caf

Newk's took over Blockbuster's spot in Willow bend market across Eatzi's.

Thank God Cane Rosso isn't coming to Plano. That would have made me very angry to hear they are expanding into the suburbs, like any other run of the mill pizza franchise. Looking forward to the Lakewood location opening very soon!

This is undoubtedly most discriminatory post of the day. :-)

Aren't these the same Dallasites who tell us that we aren't as warm, friendly and accepting in the suburbs?

Gosh, if I hadn't met other people from Lakewood, I can only imagine what my preception of them would be after seeing these types of posts.

On another note, I am happy to state that Taverna Rossa is an independent startup- Plano will be their first location. No idea how it will be, but hoping for the best.

I see where they are coming from. Cane Russo is a great place! Wonderful vibe and all. Their food is outstanding! When places expand to areas that don't really "fit" the vibe it is not the same.

The owner is very hands on and by expanding too much or with locations too far apart they can lose the quality and taper off the map when it comes to their following. As a business owner with 2 locations that has looked into a 3rd off and on for many years it is one of the many decisions that we have to wrestle with when it comes to trying to keep the high customer service level that has made us what we are and all.

I am glad they are not expanding as we love it being something different that is not on every corner.

When you put it this way, it almost makes sense. There are some of my favorite eaterieshere in Plano that I want to keep local and authentic.

There are few things I miss about Dallas. Cane Rosso is one of them. I thought they were busy expanding to Whiterock Lake?
