Hi all!

Like I have shared before, we are moving to DFW in June. We’re thinking we’d like to try Castle Hills. We are looking for a rental, and haven’t found much to choose from.

My mom is coming with us, and wants a home within walking distance of the CH shops (I think they are on King Arthur Blvd?)

Does anyone know of a realtor specializing in this area, or a local CH resource we can contact to help us in our search? Is there a CH paper or website?

Also, if you know of other communities similar to Castle Hills (within 45 minutes of DFW), please share those as well.

Thank you in advance!

Mod Note: Just a reminder, no specific real estate company or agent recommendations can be posted in this forum - please respond by DM only.

Website: Welcome to Castle Hills | Premier North Dallas Residential Community

This is the developer/HOA website. It provides maps and other information about amenities.

Paper: Flower Mound, Lantana, Highland Village

Castle Hills Life is published once a month. At the website above, you can open PDF versions of the print editions on the right.

Other similar communities: Similar in what way? Lantana is usually mentioned as being similar to CH. But you note that you're looking for walking distance to the shops. There are very few places in DFW where one can actually live in a home and walk to retail without having to cross a major road.

Keep in mind that from a single family home count, CH is just 50% built out.

Castle Hills has a new home site phase coming next year along with a major "new urbanism" development along 121.

Another area nearby is Austin Waters. Right now they are in closeout for the current phase, but I have not heard when the new phase will open. I did see survey markers going in last week.

AUSTINWATERS.COM

Further North, Frisco has a number of places, as does Allen.

Really? That is news to me. The main area of CH's only has homes left in the reserve and Enchanted hills. (Maybe 20 to 50 homes left total) CHN and CHW have a little ways to go,I think we are WAY past 50%. I believe currently CH's has around 2600 homes in it.. are you telling me they are building another 2600? I would love to see more information if you have it.

I think she/he getting the information from the FAQ page of the CH website. I've been asking them to update it for a long time. I actually spoke to the marketing people at the Bright office yesterday about it again. That info is years old.

I don't even live there an I knew what he/she said sounded wrong.

To the OP you want to listen to people that either live there, or have sold property there, or folks who do the proper research (me). CH is about built out with the exception of the fringe areas Castle Hills west and Castle Hills North. The Bridges project associated with this development, may or may not happen.

Best place to buy in my opinion is in the older (core sections) which are closest to those shops you mentioned are the best places to buy in the neighborhood.

Moderator cut: not permitted - send a DM only

OP, you mention you want to lease. Find a knowledgeable agent who can run you a list of homes for lease in some areas that might fit your needs.

Lease homes are getting hard to find.

LOL. CH is over 2500 acres. Less than half has been developed. Look at a map sometime.
