So we are looking to buy a house which the realtor says backs to a greenbelt. But I am not sure if in future they use it for commercial purpose.

What is the most sure way to check this ? I want to avoid the situation where 3 yrs down the line they open up a walmart in that lot.

Just about all the metroplex has zoning maps available online. What city is the property in?
