So we finally celebrated our son's 5th bday at Gatti Town, Frisco. It was on Sunday at 11am...luckily the place was NOT crowded to my surprise which was a good thing. The staff was courteous. Food was hot n good. All in all a good time was had by all!

For future reference, my 7 & 9 year old kids and their friends loved Zooniversity | The teaching zoo that comes to you! where they brought unusual animals to our house. It's more educational than a petting zoo, and some of the animals are unusual or exotic. Many of the animals we chose were rescued or formerly abused pets too, which was kind of nice (not that they were abused, but that they were rescued ). The birthday kid gets to hold every animal in their lap during the presentation (which is obviously really awesome for the kid) except some of the birds, and the other kids can pet them. Of course going this route is more work on your part with supplying food and entertainment before and after the actual presentation. (My kids' favorites were the Fennec Fox, Four Eyed Opossum, and the eight foot Red Tailed Boa.)
