Once you figure in property taxes, most people would be in the same boat. We are in Texas, after all. If you really wanted to get technical, think of how much you saved by not paying state income tax. At $50K, you're still doing better than most people.

I am planning to lease out my house till 2015 and buy new condo now. My credit union is willing to lend money and mortgage rates are favorable so may be its my time to smell polluted urban roses. ... or I can wait for next bubble to pop?
