davidnyc,

For the Wizard of Oz play mentioned, see
Edge Dance & Performing Arts Center. There is also a Plano Children's and McKinney Youth Theatre site that you might be interested in. You'll find that most all DFW area cities/communities do have their own children's theatre as well, i.e., examples, Garland's Children on Stage, Dallas Children's Theatre and ICT Children's Theatre - Irving.

For the two most comprehensive sites to find almost all activities/events, except specific recreation/athletics, in the DFW area by date - where you can also limit your search by any given criteria, including type of activity and the community, etc., you are interested in:

See:
Local Event Search | Dallas/Fort Worth | www.pegasusnews.com
and:
Dallas-Fort Worth Events | GuideLive - The Dallas Morning News | www.dallasnews.com/entertainment/

For those recreation/athletic activities specific to each, see the City of Plano site for all Plano parks and recreation/athletic activities for example. You'll find that this type info is also available for all of the other cities/communities in the DFW area.
.

We did the Live Green as well, then spent a few dollars at Barnes & Noble on Preston.

Today, we finally went to the Perot Museum, and the Klyde Warren Park (very busy) and took a trolley ride. Finished up with ice cream at Henry's Ice Cream in Plano.

I am at work all weekend, but my 16 month old went to the park yesterday and then did sidewalk chalk drawings and played outside today. Then he went to the grocery store with my wife.

On my weekends off, it's a little different.

We went to the Dallas Zoo yesterday as part of my employer's quarterly family activity. We went to the movie on Friday night and saw 'The Croods.' Today? Video games and playing with toys and other general lounging around and doing nothing activities after church! We may still go on a walk this evening.

Mine is still a toddler - 18 months and so here are some of the things we've done in the last couple of weeks:

Gone to the parks (Caruth, Tietze, another park I don't know the name of)
Dallas Zoo
Library/Bookstore
Dallas Museum of Art/Klyde Warren Park

5 year olds birthday party this weekend and they always go all out. Bounce house, facepainting, snowcones, entertainment, etc. etc. Should be interesting to see what it is this year.

Yard work this weekend. We always have the kids help. My daughter loves picking out flowers and having her own containers on the patio.
