Real time air quality monitoring at drilling sites.

A Commitment to Air Quality in the Barnett Shale

Quote:
“After several months of operation, state-of-the-art, 24-hour air monitors in the Barnett Shale area are showing no levels of concern for any chemicals. This reinforces our conclusion that there are no immediate health concerns from air quality in the area, and that when they are properly managed and maintained, oil and gas operations do not cause harmful excess air emissions.”

Fracking around since 1947 with over 1 MILLION wells completed in the US.

Although the state attributed the breast cancer increase to population growth, Rawlins said the town’s population increased 41 percent between 1998 and 2008, “but the breast cancer rates more than tripled during this period.”
My husband didn't even read the article and his response was:

"Oh, you mean cancer rates increased in an area where the population grew and is now full of older people who are otherwise healthy and live long enough not to die of anything else? Shocking"

Here is a graph showing age vs incident of breast cancer.

http://mammoscan.com/images/graph.gif

At age 35-39 the incident is 50 per 100,000. By age 50 - just ten years later the incident rate is 200 per 100,000.

This is a quadrupling of the rate.

Just on the surface, it looks like over the ten year span, Flower Mound is well within what is expected of an aging population.
