Thanks so much...Yes, that is what I am looking for! The community has a pool and the houses are newer - 2000 and above!! I have an 8 year old so the community is very important because this is where she will spend her free time.. well, that and at gymnastics! Thanks so much!!!

I suggest to pick a neighborhood around a 10 mile radius from your job. Traffic is starting to get bad in DFW now.

Ok, so I'm trying to find nice areas closer to my husband's work without spending more than 200 k .. still struggling big time.
I want a planned master community.. small yard .. newer home. since going north seems expensive.. can someone tell me about going east toward say the Grand Heritage community in Lavon.. or going West toward Ft Worth. Are those areas I need to stay away from?

Going east will be no help with traffic, and it might actually be worse. Again, watch out for all of the toll roads as they do ge expensive when you use them every day!

You might look further west, but its going to be hard to stay in that budget and get much closer into town...

Those are some hard requirements. Are you working with a realtor? $150-200k close to North Dallas is possible like Carrolton and The Colony. Savanna and Providence are both nice locations, but you will have drive further for shopping.
