Help finding a romantic restaurant
I need help.
I have transferred from UT Austin to UT Dallas this past semester (August 2007) so I could be closer to my fiance, who is currently studying at UNT. Needless to say I am completely unfamiliar with the greater Dallas area and/or its surroundings. Our two year anniversary is coming up on November 17th; I have the entire day planned out except for dinner and am having an extremely difficult time deciphering all the different reviews and articles about the restaurants in Dallas. I had finally made up my mind and decided to go to Antares located in the Reunion Tower but when I called to make reservations I was told they are closing on the 15th...
Basically I am in need of a restaurant that is romantic, quiet, and not outrageously expensive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys/girls.

Those places look great but I am looking for a place a little more scenic. Dallas is really industrial and concrete so I would like to go to a place more wide-open.

You might also try posting this on the Texas board on Chowhound.

I made hubby take me to Kennys Woodside Grill in Addison for my recent b-day. It really is good but not in a "scenic" location though. The filet is killer as is the tenderloin crostini and brie fondue. They serve popovers too
And no, I am NOT 29 cause if I am I ain't holding up that well

Nine Steakhouse at Victory Park is pretty cool. Good steaks. Cool vibe. With all the victory park screens it is a very "manhattan" feel. Not industrial. Then you can go up to Ghostbar for the cool view. It's across the street. If you ask, they'll take you from Nine to the front of the line for Ghostbar.
Lola's on Fairmont is really nice. Good gourmet for any foodie. It's in Uptown. Definitely not industrial in any way.
Cafe Pacific in Highland Park Village is super nice too. Great seafood. It's in Highland Park in a turn of the century Mediterranean shopping village. You can also go to Exall park (on Lakeside and Beverly). That's some beautiful scenery.
I think Antares is closed for remodeling.
Dallas isn't necessarily a place to go for "the view." But it has some really cool restaurants in cool areas.

Cafe Pacific is awesome. Try the grilled swordfish and definitely make reservations.
