I have been a nurse for over 30 years and got blacklisted by a woman who had once dated my brother and was dumped by him. She was in managment. In retaliation, she made it impossible for me to get a job at her hospital. I know this because everything was fine until she found out that I was his sister. Then all hell hit the fan. I was working there as agency, doing great, and the next thing I know, I am not asked back, no reason, and a "do not return" placed beside my name. These kinds of people are evil. Let their evil minds do its work on them.

why can't the nurses that are being black-balled by Group One file a group lawsuit for libel or defamation of character or whatever the legal term would be...
IF the reasons Group One says they are poor hiring choices are untrue then Group One is treating them unfairly and they have no remediation remedies...

Default Reasons

I briefly corresponded with the TNA regarding Group One and got the non-answer I was expecting. Their rep regurgitated the same facts you find when seaching Group One online, they opperate within legal boundries and as such can not be touched.
This ability to Black Ball an individual is not legal in any way. My question is, besides apathy on the part of TNA and the Nursing board, how have they gotten away with this for so long and what are the working parts of this system.
How does a hospital get this black list notice on you. If you are not a hosptial, say only a small subcontractor for medical services, you do not get the same info they do.
If just one ex-HR employee would come out with this info, it could be one hell of a story. Think of the class action law suit.$$

Please bear with me, this is little long. Where can I find a phone # or website to contact Group One? I want to find out if my name is on the list. I have just interviewed for a PRN nursing job and the manager said they use group one for their background check. I recently worked 5 months at a hospital after being warned by several of my other nursing friends. I couldn't resist the pay. It was a $7.50/hr raise! My very first night on the job several nurses said they were surprised I came to work there since 12 nurses had just recently left after the new manager came. Well I soon found out why. She never took the side of the nurse. She was all about pleasing this one particular doctor and if anyone did anything to upset him they just didn't stick around very long. She would make comments about those of us who liked to go to church saying things like she couldn't go to church if she knew there were patients at the hospital who needed her help. She made several comments like that to make us feel terrible. She would aldo lie. She encouraged her staff to come to her if there was a prolem instead of going direcrtly to the person to try to solve it. After her list got long enough she reported it to HR. She didn't always talk to you first. She and I never really hit it off and I could tell she didn't like me. Then when the assistant manager sent her an email telling her about a certain situation and that I did not do what she had said I did, she reported it to HR anyway! It was an outright lie! I told HR and they didn't even look at the copy of the email! That's when I decided I couldn't work there anymore. Then right before I left I got "her doctor" upset and he went and told her. Well that was it. She told HR and they were ready to fire me! They told me that had I not given my 2 weeks notice they probably would have let me go. They did pay me for 2 weeks, probably to prevent me from going back and sharing what really happened. But they cancelled my insurance that day instead of the payperiod after my final day which should have been after my 2 weeks and didn't tell me. Now I have a $1400 doctor bill and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it. Anyway there is lots more. But, a month later I applied for another job with the same organization but different hospital. After my online interview they sent me a message saying I was "not suitable" and they are not interested in hiring me. My former employer says that Yes I am rehirable. So I wonder what's up. I wouldn't be surprised if they reported me to Group One and lied to me about it! So I really want to see for myself if I am on "the list". Thanks for any info you could share with me. I did apply for a hospital out of the same organization and did get the job, but of course it doesn't pay as well so I am looking for additional PRN work.
