Mexi-Go also used to be halfway decent. I think they underwent some management changes at the Little Elm location and started skimping on portion size. I mean, as obese Americans, we should eat less but it was ridiculous at the price point. When I don't leave with leftovers - that is not good.

I find surprisingly good tacos at various Fiesta locations. Almost any one has good fajita tacos, but the one on Garland at Jupiter has REALLY good barbacoa.

Cuquitas on Nw hwy is crap. Any El Fenix blows it away. And I've always done fine at El Fenix - they have the best chips and very good salsa. The spinach chicken enchiladas w sour cream sauce is their claim to fame. Try that you may be surprised.

One of the better authentic taco places is tacos Y mas. I go to the one off greenville and Ross sometimes for lunch.

The best torta place is la hechizera. They also have other options like tacos too.

You know you are in a decent Mexican place when the majority of the people eating there are Hispanic and the people working hardly speak English.

Pappasito's is very good if you're looking for a chain, or just good food. I haven't been in a few years, but they always had good food when I went. That wouldn't be a bad place to go at all.

If you're looking for independent family owned restaurants El Ranchito in Oak Cliff and Chito's in Plano are two of my favorites. I would also recommend Casa Mama in Plano and Pepe's and Mito's in Deep Ellum.

For tacos, I like Fuel City and Taqueria El Si Hay, both in Dallas.

Fuel City is good, and surprisingly, there's another place set up very similarly, but on about 2/3 the scale of FC called Fuel Town close to where I work (FT is Inwood Rd @ I-35E). My favorites are the carnitas tacos.... Juicy, flavorful stuff!
