Mansion. Its really just down the street from the Ritz and Crescent, but its location is more secluded(small street and some luxury towers along Turtle Creek) and is much more green. The Ritz is closer to all of the new construction Uptown. Actually its in the middle of it. I'd go for the Mansion.

Default holiday in Dallas

The Mansion is still a premium and beautiful (and expensive hotel). Its not really in walking distance of much, but in a kind of out the fast track of Dallas and a quick cab ride to all kinds of activities.

I haven't seen the Ritz, as it is practically brand new, but Dean Fearing has opened a top restaurant there, so I'm sure everything is top of the line. It is down near the downtown area, very close to American Airlines Center, where the Mavericks and Stars play, several museums/aquarium/etc.

Either would be a luxurious stay!

We love the history and luxury of hotels like the Driskill ( stayed in the Brazo Suite...what an awesome balcony!!!) the St. Regis in D.C. (what great service they have there) and Trump Towers in N.Y.C. (views from our suite were unreal) among many others.

Thanks again for your thoughts.
You could also try: Melrose Hotels - Luxury Hotels in Dallas for history or the Dallas Hotels - The Adolphus - Luxury Hotel in Downtown Dallas, Texas (TX) (http://www.hoteladolphus.com/adolphus_home.aspx - broken link) The Stoneleigh is under renovation and they are adding a large condo tower.
