Good Place to board cats NW/Mid Cities area
My son who lives close to Vista Ridge Mall is being married in March and they plan to go to Italy for their honeymoon--they have two cats--they will need to be boarded because plan on being gone about 10 -12 days...I know cats don't like to be boarded but just don't think a sitter service will work--they can be pretty destructive and get angry when they are left to fend for themselves...
Any recommendations for a clean, well-run, kennel place in the Carrollton/Lewisville/Grapevine area--does not have to be for cats only
---as long as they have open play area for cats to actually play with climbing tree stuff and toys and let nice kitties play with each other... and are nice people...
the place we board our cat is the PetSmart in Southlake and the dog seems to like it ok--she can go to doggie day care while she is there but there is really no open kitty play space---so would like to find something maybe to use for ourselves as well ...
Don't want a vet unless there are separate kennel spaces from where they treat the sick animals--Ideally, would be nice to have someplace that even allowed cats outside within a cages arena but know that is probably very unlikely...

I usually use the Petsmart PetsHotel at 12100 Inwood just south of the N. Tollway & I635 interchange (as long as two weeks once). They did take the cat out everyday also -- would seem they would do that in Southlake, too; certainly nothing like they have for dogs, though (haven't found that anywhere, either, so if you do, let me know!). Anyway, I highly recommend them!

Yes, new2sa, we have used it in 2005 and are fixin to use it again for this Thanksgiving. We are very pleased with it! I am also on their mailing list for their newsletter and I've ordered several things from them online.

I used them when we had a business function at the DFW Hyatt. I was very pleased with the care my little dog received. The staff all seemed very interested in their guests. I will use them again when I'm in the Dallas area.

on Hebron there is a new business...I think I saw they boarded cats as well. The Cat Hospital. at Fairway and Hebron. They just recently opened and are at most 2 miles away from the mall.

I checked out that place on Hebron to board my cat in November and for Christmas... it is nice. Hebron Cat Hospital I think is the name.

Honestly, cats do better in their own home than in a boarding facility. I personally travel a LOT with my work, and I have the world's best pet sitter who comes in daily and checks on my kitties. Talk to your vet and see if they have a sitter or service that they recommend. It is also less expensive than boarding.

I never thought to ask my vet to recommend a service but hubby won't go for that. He doesn't trust anyone to come into our home while we're gone.
