Default Day Care Suggestions- Lewisville Area?

Hi All-
Just rented a place for a 6 month lease in Lewisville. My wife needs to find a job in the area but before we can look for that, we need to find a daycare. Approx. 3 days a week, some less/some more for a 17 month old boy. I would like some suggestions, and also to see what the average going rate is down there for daycare. Up here in Maine it is $125 a week/average.

I know a couple of moms who have been very happy with The Children's Courtyard.

Thanks, I will look into that one, they have a center right down the road. Checks good with DFPS too. My only concern is they look pretty expensive and while childcare is not something you necessarily want to go cheap on, I just want it worth it for my wife to work. If her paycheck goes completely to childcare and gas, then whats the point? Seeing as I have no idea what the average rate is for daycare down there, I do not know what to expect.

Thanks again

The best place to get a great sitter is from your local elementary school. The teachers and principal know all the good ones :-) I did that with my daughter and had the GREATEST sitter, she had just a few other kids that stayed and they all got lots of personal attention. I know you are still in Maine but you can easily find the number of the school and ask them.

Thanks! That's a great idea, as long as the people are certified. Nowadays it's all about what they have on paper. I will look up the local schools and give them a try.

Children's Lighthouse in Carrollton on the edge of Lewisville near I35.

If you are willing to drive I'd recommend Discover and Share in Coppell off of MacArthur and Beltline. Not far from Vista Ridge Mall in the scheme of things. They charge by the day or week. One of the few that do this for you and they are accredited. Family owned.
