Very sad news for Dallas tonight as radio host Kidd Kraddick died of an aneurysm in New Orleans.

People were blowing up my FB wall while I was out tonight, I thought it was a joke at first. Pretty shocking. :-( Like many Dallasites my age I grew up listening to him until my tastes in music changed. I haven't listened to his show in many years, but he was certainly a huge personality in DFW and will be sorely missed. RIP Kidd Kraddick!

I have a lot of friends in the radio biz in DFW who worked with him at one time or another. They're all in shock tonight.

I don't listen much anymore but even just flipping through in the morning, Kidd's voice has a "homey-ness" to it and transports me back to being in the car on the way to middle and high school. It is like one piece of the Dallas I grew up in that hasn't changed.

He will be missed- both on the morning show and in his amazing foundation, Kidd's Kids.

Only the good die young.

I totally thought it was a tasteless joke, but wow. That is so sad. I listened to him for years and the podcast after I left. So very sad. I wonder what will happen to his show. He really boosted the Dallas brand with how widely syndicated he was.

I'm going to miss him. I became a Kraddick addict 4 yrs ago. I feel like I lost a friend. I posted a FB message to him Friday and he responded Friday night. I didn't know that'll be my last time talking to him. I feel sorry for the cast. Kelly and Big Al have been with him for 19 and 18 yrs respectably.

Used to listen to him daily on my morning commutes from Tarrant County to downdown Dallas in the 80s-90s and learned last year that my 8 year old grandkid was listening to him....so when we were together I always put him on. He gave me many laughs, and that kind of contribution to one's daily life is priceless.
