I looked at sumeer homes new construction home and floor plan looks nice. I am trying to compare their build quality against First Texas Homes, DR Horton, Meritage Homes and Grand Homes. All names except Sumeer are big builder names so enough reports are available. Where does Sumeer stand compare to all other builders in terms of build quality?

Any suggestions?

They are building in Mckinney also. There quality appears to be on par with some of the others mentioned, which is not necessarily a plus. Many of the builders use the same contracting companies and quality control is low in most of the new homes I see. Make sure you get a thorough home inspection prior to closing so you know what needs to be finished, corrected or repaired prior to moving in.

I was in a new home a couple weeks ago (not Sumeer) that was finished and didn't have any insulation in the attic - whoops!

woww attic without insulation is a bummer! Yeah, I have home inspection in my MUST LIST for any new home that I plan to buy whether thru Sumeer or any other builder in metroplex.

Any other advice or opinion people have to share?

Did you know the attic above the garage is never insulated ?

Since the garage is not heated or cooled it needs to breathe and have airflow.
