HEY!!! Wait a minute. If you being in your 30's only makes you a kid or "very young".......... that means I'm still pretty darn young being that I'm in my 40's. I could go for this translation

Yeah really. It's kind of funny that I have grey (arm) hairs and the beginnings of crows' feet, but I'm just a kid whose opinions are worthless!

Absolutely! It's all in the perspective.

Okay... question... if I've been here 30 yrs... over half my life... can I apply for "half-native Texan" status?

You tell me. My dad moved here in 1951 when he was six years old. He's now 62, and there are people around here who don't consider him to be a "real" Texan either. I tease him about it just to wind him up. He tries to pull out the whole "I've lived here longer than you've been alive" argument, but then I remind him for the millionth time that I was born here and he wasn't. He really hates that.

My 6-year-old son uses this too...he was born in Texas and tells everyone "I'm a Texan, and my parents aren't." Then proceeds to tell people how bad he feels for us. We don't mind and it beats his old thing telling people his home PLANET was Texas. I mean it's big, but um not that big

I still tell my husband he is not a "Native Texan" as he was born in Alabama and moved here when he was two. LOL!!!!! OH, and he was bald by the time he got out of college.

You can't be a native Texan unless you were born here...end of! That's kind of what "native" means, after all.
