Both Bridges are going to huge. basically 20 lanes of width combined for I-30 and 17-18 for I-30. Widest stretches of Freeway in the metroplex by a good margin right now. Stretches of 114, 820 and LBJ will rival them upon opening though.

Its kinda hard to visualize or understand why they even need to be that wide if the freeways themselves are not that wide?

They are expanding the freeways into downtown, so the extra lanes are gonna be needed.

Didnt they just finish I-30 going west from Downtown through Grand Prairie?

Yeah, but that area is under-construction again because of the reconstruction of the HOV lanes.

The Horseshoe Project is going to completely rebuild the Mixmaster and Interstate bridges across the Trinity. The ground-breaking ceremony was done a couple of months ago.

Very excited about Dallas new I 30 Bridge. It's really going to make an impact on the city. Now if we can get the Trinity Project going, and once finish it's really is going to be a master piece.

Due to a shortage in funding (yeah, unfortunately), only the I-30 (Landry) bridge will have arched spans, while the one on South Thornton Freeway will not. Nevertheless, both bridge structures will be more functional than ever, and I'm glad to see pedestrians and bicyclists included in these. Those things are going to be important when it comes to moving people.

Coupled with the impending Horseshoe Project, we will definitely see improved movement overall at the most critical junction in all of Dallas.

The two bridges up against the skyline will be beautiful alone. The lakes will change the image of the trinity river with all the stuff that comes with them......LETS GET IT DONE DALLAS! !
