SER?

At this point I'm going to suggest Marcus Cafe or Afrah to him; both are in Richardson. Afrah wins for food but Marcus Cafe wins for atmosphere.

I hear it's nice but wouldn't that be a bit spendy?

I guess it helps to know all the dietary restrictions.

Kalachandji's is all vegetarian and is interesting, not spendy.
Thai Soon has great veg option - their pad kee mow is my favorite.
Carbone's if you want Italian.

Do you like Vietnamese? Nam Hua has an entire vegetarian menu. Just ask for it.

Cosmic Cafe and Bliss Raw (oh man it's closed?) are both pretty cool and vegeterian. I also like the Lower Greenville Campisis - the urban legend about the mob (the mob hangs out in Italian restaurants, so we'll call this place Egyptian and serve Italian food) and the tiny jukeboxes on the tables makes for an interesting date. I don't think there are any veg choices though.

I also like Fireside Pies - Dallas or Plano. Both locations are nice for little walks afterwards and the food is interesting but not expensive.

First impression is a lasting one....this would be a great atmosphere to get some chemistry going with the view being the conversation piece...add good food and a few drinks and this becomes one of the most memorable dates between you two......MAJOR POINTS GAINED.

560 is definitely not first date material, no guy is going to be too happy with his date if she chooses such an expensive restaurant on a first date, unless he's the Ferrari driving type and doesn't care what it costs.

I'd also recommend Cosmic Cafe, or right across the street, tucked around the corner is a small Italian place called Bellini's. Great pasta.

BigD- I think I recall you are in Richardson- Have you been to Abocas? SB 75 near Party City. I realize that first pulling up in the parking lot impression may be not quite what you are looking for....but inside it is like a family-owned little Italian place that you might see in Little Italy, NYC. It is BYOB and the food is good. Maybe a second or third date because of the first impression drive up, but you do need to go if you haven't been.

There is an awesomely romantic restaurant in downtown Carrollton upstairs in an old brick building- Italian, dark, good food, Amici's. it is SO romantic that you may want to see how much you like this person first.

It's at the top of the Hilton Anatole on 35 in Dallas. It's probably a little much for a first date though.

Hmm yes...I'm sure it's lovely but I agree, a bit much for a first date.
