Yay! Some new restaurants coming in too, I hear. (Although Angelo's is leaving.)

Yes, it is definitely a double-edged sword.

A lot of people are upset about the sweeping changes in the retail/restaurant scene and teardowns (especially in the northern section of Lakewood Proper).

You realize that this is not an attempt at "best urban neighborhoods," right? They merely counted down the largest cities in order and chose one neighborhood from each city. In reality, there might have been ten or more from NY alone that rate higher than anything elsewhere.

Maybe, but if they're choosing one from each big city isn't it nice that Lakewood won?

I thought that was a little weird. Where in Dallas ARE the public transit options plentiful? The extensive HP/UP subway system? The school comment though, okay, okay.

They are a little behind on their school information. I also think we have pretty good public transit options - it's very easy to catch the bus and the DART rail stations are not that far away - Mockingbird Station, White Rock Lake Station and Baylor Hospital on the south end..

Of course it's not like the 60s, 70s and 80s (and before my time) when many of the Lakewood dads took the bus downtown together...
