You won't get out of a ticket for wrong information like that. The only information that really counts is the time/date, DL number, and license plate. If any of those are wrong, you have a shot of getting out of it, IF you plead not guilty and then go before a judge and fight it in court. Or, pay a lawyer to do it for you.

Listing the wrong car color, or address, doesn't make a difference.

Simple. Every cop car has a video camera going during traffic stops, with the time stamp on the video. If the time on your ticket doesn't correspond to the time on the video of him giving you a ticket, then you can say that you were not there at the time he stated the offense occurred. Once that is established, you can question whether the speed in question is accurate as well. The radar gun can also be checked to see how long ago it was last calibrated. A good traffic lawyer can probably get it dismissed if there's plenty of errors on it.

Technically you can get a ticket dismissed due to incorrect info such as wrong name, address, DOB, etc but it's ultimately up to the judge. My friend has been a constable for a long time and I mentioned this to him. He's got a few things wrong on a citation such as in your case like color of car, wrong address, etc and the judge let it slide to where the citation still had to be paid. Same as when people say if the cop does not show up, the ticket gets thrown out. While true, the judge will usually wait for them to show up and also give them a call and can delay the hearing for them to show up.

And there should be no ticket you receive in the mail. You should have got a copy at the traffic stop. What you are looking at to tell us he got some info wrong is your speeding ticket. They never have mailed any of mine to me.

hire a traffic lawyer. Its like $75 and well worth it. They will either get it dismissed or sometimes get the fine lowered. Plus you dont have to do anything because they go to court for you. If everyone fought their tickets the legal system wouldn't be able to keep up with all the BS tickets cops give out.

I agree, they can get you out on the incorrect info or if not that get you probation for 3 months or so. Sometimes the ticket never gets in the system too, also given your move into the city, they can make sure you do not get hit for not getting a Tx DL timely.

Good luck and welcome to Tx.

I wouldn't consider going 75 in a 60 a 'BS ticket'. The OP deserved the ticket (and I think the OP recognizes that).

I consider speed trap tickets a BS ticket. I dont know the specifics on this persons ticket but a lot of them are traps. I got caught in one in rockwall and it was labeled construction even though the construction ended months beforehand. I got out of it though with a lawyer.
