It was clever of Uber to roll out early on in Washington, D.C., which means that they have a large cheering section in the national media ready to take their side every time a local government, in the pocket of the yellow-cab lobby, tries to pull this nonsense.

I love uber and always use it. I don't remember the last time I used a cab service...

If the City of Dallas does anything to shutdown or limit Uber in it's current format it is doing the citizens a huge disservice. It is not governments role to shutdown competition because a company's outdated business model cannot compete. Dallas taxi's are terrible and if they can't adapted to compete with the competition let it die.
