Hello all, I'm a Dallas Fort Worth based filmmaker. Right now i'm location scouting for a new film, and was checking this site out. I have almost all my locations except one. I'm looking for a believable meth lab/shack thats secluded and away from the major city. Does anyone know of anything? I'd appreciate it.

William Wasson,

Check out Princeton, TX (a bit east of McKinney). It's the meth capital of North Texas and pretty rural; I'm sure it would make for an authentic set Nearby Farmersville or really any of those areas north of Lake Lavon fit the bill. There are some not-so-well maintained shack looking things on 380 near the lake bridge.

How about older sections of Forney, Kaufman, Terrell? Lots of land, kind of deserted looking in some spaces.

Try Samuell Farm in Mesquite. Cross the creek and head back on the gravel road for about 1/2 mile. There might be a good old shack/barn there.

Call the Mesquite PD PIO. Waco is another option.

Oh I can help you with that easily. In Cooke County off of FM 922 just east of I-35 there is a WELL KNOWN meth lab community. It is called Pioneer Valley. It is NOT for the faint of heart however. I highly suggest you contact the Cooke County sheriffs department. It is I believe technically located in Valley View, Texas.
I promise you cannot get more authentic than this....sadly.
