Where is the diversity in DFW? (Dallas, Plano: credit, neighborhoods, living)

What neighborhoods in the greater Dallas area are the most diverse with well-educated, affluent people of all different ethnicities living, working, and playing together? I grew up in the bay area in CA so I am used to a lot of diversity where mixed groups of friends and mixed couples are common to see. If this doesn't exist, what comes closest or is most open minded to diversity?

Have you checked out the US census map that maps diversities across the US. That would be a great place to start. Affluent areas are going to range from north of downtown Dallas all the way up to say Frisco.

There is a better map out there, can't find it right now though.

Garland is pretty diverse, but it isn't affluent.

Honestly, I really can't think of any place in DFW that meets this standard... Anyone?

I certainly agree that Garland is not affluent. The definition of affluent is varied though. So for me, the parts of North Garland such as Firewheel and my part of GISD in Sachse, has some affluent areas. I guess I would consider some areas upper-middle class. But anyway, the meaning of affluent is different to everyone I think.

I guess it depends on your definition of diverse. I mean it's not Fort Bend County, but let's give credit where credit is due. Plano will be a majority minority city before we know it.

I was about to say this. Also, 25% of Plano was born abroad, and only 40% of Plano ISD is White.

Collin County - West Plano, Tx.

Stay away from East Plano its not nearly as affluent.
