After much heartbreak I'm looking for a good divorce lawyer in Dallas. Can anyone recommend someone they have had a positive experience with? I've done some research and am considering collaborative law. Heard it's good for families with kids and assets. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated as well....

This is who my mother and step father used with my biological father failed to pay any child support until I was 14 years old. She was fair, but got tough when needed.

Jennifer Hargrave at Verner & Brumley. I practice family law in Dallas (about to move to Houston and leaving that sort of law practice). Jennifer is one of the very best. Another is David Housel at Scott Palmer Law. PM me and I can tell you more. Best of luck to you and I'm sorry you are going through this.

I'd run the numbers on divorce costs vs your intended outcome. The lowest cost will be around 500-1000 dollars vs 4000 -15,000 plus for other approaches.

I'd start with a mediator and prepare your own paperwork as a first step.
