I heard from someone who mentioned that the East dallas areas such as White Rock Lake, Lakewood, Casa Linda, Uptown/Turtle Creek area are nice.

Yes, those are nice areas of older homes. Turtle Creek and Uptown is going to have newer developments w/ the surge of townhomes and condos in the area. The areas around White Rock Lake - Lakewood & Casa Linda - are going to have the older bungalow type housing, tudors, etc. Lots of preservation groups involved in these areas. Also along the M Streets off of lower Greenville Ave. A new highrise of condos is planned to be built on White Rock Lake off of Garland Ave.
