I currently live in Addison and am considering taking a new job in Denton.

How is the commute into Denton from Addison? If traffic/construction on 35 are bad would it be worth taking DNT up to 380? If I need to be near UNT at around 7:30 am what time should I plan to leave Addison?

I-35 is just plain horrible in the middle of the day, can't imagine how bad in rush hour. LOTS of trucks as it is major N-S route through the middle of the country. And it's surface is terrible, always construction somewhere.

A reverse commute on the DNT shouldn't be too bad, Hwy 380 has a lot of commuter traffic but is either 4 or 6 lanes ands is in good shape. Then you take Loop 288 over to a short section on I-35 until you get to UNT, or you could go another way (not sure how).

I did this commute around 7 am a couple years ago. It took about 50-60 minutes. DNT to GBT to 35.

If you are really going to Denton then it would be better to avoid 35. Take DNT north all way to 380 and then take 380 all the way to Denton.

I believe they are going to be doing some construction at 35 and FM 407 in Lewisville right just south of the lake. Changing the bridge out. I'm sure that project will take a couple years (not that it should...)

I went to UNT for many years, I dont really like 380 much especially if the weather is poor. I would plan on an hr drive into UNT unfortunately there is traffic both ways, granted south traffic is worse so you should be a bit better than going from UNT to Addison
