I saw a piece on the local news a while back about a place here in the Metroplex that was kind of like an overstock.com. Particularly, they sold lots of very affordable electronics and would allow customers to come to the warehouse to purchase items. I think it may have been in Arlington off of I20 but I could be mistaken. Does anyone know any information relating to this company or can someone suggest a good place to buy affordable electronics? It would be greatly appreciated!

You're talking about Fry's. It's a big chain. They have the big store off I-20 in Arlington and about 4-5 other locations in the metroplex. If you know what you're looking for it can be an OK place to shop. But I'd never send my mother there.

Fry's Home Electronics | Computer Parts & Accessories, Software, Games, TVs, Cameras - Frys.com

Personally I buy most of my electronics online from amazon, B&H and newegg. No sales tax and I don't have to drive anywhere.

No, it's not Fry's. I shop there weekly. This was an internet based business that was located in the Metroplex. They open the warehouse to walk up customers to clean out unsold inventory. Prices were incredible - as in $250 for a LCD HD television over 40". The point of the piece on the news was that it is a hidden jewel of the metroplex, known by very few and definitely not a large chain store like Fry's.
Thanks for the input.

Oh....then I got no idea. Fry's was the only big electronics store I could think of along I-20. If you figure it out then come back here and post the answer on this thread OK? Because I'm curious now too.

I will. It's driving me nuts. I'm not even certain it's off I20 by the way.
