Wedding Reception
Hello!
I was wondering if any of y'all could help me find a place for a wedding reception. I have been looking but haven't found a place meeting my criteria: capacity 450 people; indoor; allow outside catering; be less than $25 per person. It doesn't have to be a hotel banquet hall, I have had people suggest recreation centers, country clubs, senior citizen halls, UT Arlington Banquet hall, so I am open to any ideas (but please no church/chapels)--i just haven't found one that is what i said (although I haven't completely checked out the university banquet hall-still working on it). If any of you guys have any suggestions or ideas, please help!!!!! I would really appreciate it. The wedding is for late June. Also location doesn't really matter but I would prefer in the areas of Plano, Arlington, Carrollton, Richardson etc.
Thanks!

Try the Summit Ballrooms in Plano. They are on Summit right off of Jupiter just north of 190 so it is easy for people to find. We have been there for several events and they have two ballrooms available with a outside catering the only option. Pickle Hill in McKinney might be too far though and I don't know if the "barn" holds 450????

Have you tried the Hall of State and the Texas Discovery (Garden Center) at Fair Park?

The need to accommodate over 400 guests limits your choices in the North Texas area. You might check these out:
Castle Douglas Castle Douglas Wedding Reception Venue, Dallas Fortworth, Texas (can do 600)
Double D Ranch Welcome to Double D Ranch! (can do over 500 but I think that is for an outside event and I had heard the ranch may not be there any more but the website is still up, so ??)
Paradise on the Hill Dallas Outdoor Weddings and Events Center (think they can handle just at 400, but you could check, in a tent. Which can truly be turned into a wonderland with the right designer).
I don't know but Collin County College has a large auditorium they rent to groups for lectures/seminars. You might even consider calling them???
Good luck in your search. I'll dig through some of my old stuff from my days or working weddings and will post more if I find something.

Have you looked into the Dallas Market Center? I do not know their catering rules or prices, but the halls in some of those buildings are huge--capacities for over 1,000 people, banquet style. Dallas Market Center
There is also the Frontiers of Flight Museum, which does allow outside catering.
Frontiers of Flight Museum - Dallas, Texas
The main hall can host up to 850 seated.
On a side note, with that many people, you should be in a very good position to negotiate both prices and menus.
Good luck!
