Hello, all,

What are the best websites to view upcoming new developments/neighborhoods in the dfw area? I know there's New Home Source, but I'm sure they aren't capturing everything. Or is it just best to drive around and look? Thanks in advance!

My 2 cents suggest that first you need to focus on area with good location and reasonable commute to your work, then narrow it down according to budget, school standards, area amenities, resale prospects and anything else that sits high on your priority list.

Once you have a smaller target area then look at the new and existing houses. Go with one that seems like the best fit for your life style. No good neighborhood has dozens of builders building there, picking one would be easier or you may find an existing house that speaks to you.

Randomly looking at all builders all over DFW sounds inefficient to me.

Not all builders advertise on Newhomesource it also tends to stay out of date once a community closed out, they keep it on there for a year plus I've noticed.

My advice is to choose the builders you like and subscribe to their emails on their websites and they'll email you whenever they have a new community coming up.

A full time Realtor could make your life easier and do all that work for you. We get notified of upcoming neighborhoods and sometimes we even participate in focus groups with different builders and they ask about what current homebuyers are looking for etc.
