We did do the 30-year thing, but prepay on the balance so it's really more like 20-years. Only reason we did that is for the "just in case" scenario. If money gets tight for some reason, we can stop prepaying and free up several hundred bucks each month. We call it out tax deductible insurance plan. 15-year rates were only 1/4 point lower.
