Hello! I have the opportunity to live in Uptown during the summer but I would have to commute to Sherman for work. I have a question though because I am not from TX. How bad of a commute would this be with traffic in the morning and afternoons?

Uh, I don't think that's really commutable. Maybe for the summer, but not long-term. It's about a 65 mile drive each way. I'd plan for 1 hour, 15 min in the AM and up to 1.5-2 hours PM...just depends on when you hit traffic. There's more traffic in the PM commute on 75 southbound.

Ok, thank you. I appreciate the quick response. Right now it would only be for the summer but it could at later date become long-term.

That sounds awful. The only way I would consider it is if you have a free place to stay in Uptown or something and this is an internship. But don't do it long term.

Yuck. That would get old really fast, plus the wear & tear you would be putting on your car.

Only if its temporary, place is free and you can't afford one near Sherman.

If I was under 30 I would do it for the summer. Uptown is fun place to live and you need less sleep. Long term it would suck.

Live in Oklahoma instead, it's closer... Uptown to Sherman is not a good commute. Think of all the time you would be in the car instead of enjoying Uptown. You'll be too tired to go anywhere and actually experience Uptown.
