The owners don't have to live in Plano to open their restaurant there.

Plano is a place where people have money to spend on food and entertainment, shopping...

If I lived in the Park Cities, I would probably live in a cottage that is at least 1.2 M, shop wisely and eat out occasionally.
I don't eat out a lot because I am very picky about my food but I could eat out everyday and it won't break the bank as long as I am in Plano.

I would say that owners of restaurants, shops... are clever to choose Plano as a location! There is money to be spent and they know it!

I wish Royal Thai would open here

Absolutely , the idea that people in the suburbs do not have taste and that only Dallas has the right people to eat out in expensive restaurant is getting tiring. People in the suburbs do enjoy as well high end and have the cash to do it ! Investors would be stupid to not invest . I don't mind going to Dallas but since city like Plano are expending , it is nice to see it getting an identity and becoming a total city on its own. The shops at Legacy were dull for many years , but it is changing , no more lines of 40 year old drunk on a Saturday night , many nicer restaurants have move in and with the soon new addition on the other side of the tollway , people like me do not feel the need to go downtown anymore. And I'm far to be alone , many of my friends have change their habit , we rather go even dowtown McKinney that starts to have really nice restaurants.
