If schools are important for resale, which city would you consider - Allen or Frisco?

I sell homes in San Antonio for a Builder, and believe me Schools are a buying decision factor. I am fortunate to have my neighborhood located in the NW quandrant of SA whis is the NISD, and allot of people make sure that my neighborhood is in said school district before they actually want to look at my Models. Having children, it is a very big part of the buying decision for most families, because you try to provide your kids with the most desirable schools, and you also look at the TAKS scores online to help you with your decision.... So Yes. Very important the schools near by, especially for re-sell down the road.....

Wow....That is a pretty absurd statement...

I guess I was abused during my childhood...

Child abuse, or rather child neglect would have been leaving my son in his exemplary public school.

Frisco. Unless you can find something in Allen that is in the Lovejoy school district. Despite what the data on the elemetary school and Jr. High say, it is still a very sought after school district.

I think Allen is a really really good school district, but the large size of the high school scares some people off.

Allen does have really good schools, and the high school wont be as large this year b/c of the new Lovejoy HS, right?

This year Lovejoy has 9th and 10th and I don't think the classes are that large. I think there was just under 200 in last year's 9th grade class (when the school only had 9th grade).

Last year Allen High School 10-12th grade had about 3,630 students and another 1,133 in the 9th grade freshman center. The departure of Lovejoy kids, to me, isn't going to make a huge difference at Allen High School. There are only about 2,000 kids in the entire Lovejoy district.

I've lived in Maryland, , Virginia and 3 parts of Socal - now North Dallas.

Schools have mattered in each of these areas, regardless of whether or not you have kids or not.

Topographical features (Water accesss, Ocean View, Mountains, etc.) always rank first, but school systems fall in a close second, especially in areas where there is very little topography. The only exception being once you cross over into true Urban living, then in that market, accessibility/ammenities reign above all else.
