I always thought it would be GM moving its headquarters to DFW (still a possibility in the future). But Toyota moving its headquarters to DFW never remotely crossed my mind. DFW overnight has became a major player in the Auto industry.

Obviously tis is US HQ, not the overall company HQ...but yeah, that's big.

Wonder if this will help me get parts for our old cars now?

I've seen conflicting reports. Some have indicated it's only the U.S. sales office, others the U.S. HQs. Either way, it would be a huge coup for Plano and DFW.

Great news if the report about moving a few thousand jobs to Legacy is true. There is so much commercially zoned land in Plano, I wondered how they could use up the thousands of acres zoned commercial which are empty. This will go along way to generating additional demand with suppliers and vendors who might follow.

If Toyota is moving up to 5000 jobs that alone will consume around 2-3 Million SF of office space which isn't available in that area now so they will build a campus most likely.

Imagine what that will do for demand for the already hot Plano home demand. It wont hurt the new restaurants heading to W. Plano either (Mi Dia from Scratch, Smoke, PakPao, Princi Itali, DeeLincoln and Kona Grill to name a few recent announcements/openings.)

Wow that's big. Those Tree-Huggers and socialists out on the west coast are going to totally ruin that economy before it's over out there. Congrats to Plano for landing this big relocation !

It is their sales and marketing HQ for the US. Maunfacturing and marketing have different headquarters, the article said they are moving closer to manufacturing plant, I wonder if they will consolidate operations.

If is commercial, are their good places to raise a family and homes close to good school or is it far away 30 minutes from homes. I know nothing about the area.

It's in Plano Texas a great city to raise a family with one of the best school systems in Texas and is competitive nationally as one of the best.

Plano was named the top place in US to raise a family. Even though those lists are all subjective it's a great to live. Short commute as it's city of about 280k but most residential has been built out about 10 years ago. Homes here are a bargain compared to S Cali but already in high demand and low inventory available for buyers.
