What are the casinos local to the DFW area?
I know there are some casinos in OK and LA, but I don't know the names and towns the casino's reside in. Are there any in TX too? Looking for tables and slots. Thanks in advanced.

Winstar in Oklahoma. Take I-35 north and it is a few miles up the road on the Oklahoma side. In Louisiana the closest casinos are in Boosier City (burb of Shreveport). There are charter buses that take people to the casinos but they have been robbed (YIKES). It's a decent day trip if you leave early and don't need to hurry up and get back. If your used to Vegas, don't expect too much.

Thanks for the responses. Someone told me there also are a few along 75 after the OK borderline? Does anyone know the names of those?

I think the one along 75 in OK is the Choctaw casino. I'm not sure if it's a Native American reservation casino or just themed that way.
Just take 75 north, and eventually you'll see signs and billboards telling you exactly where to go.

I like Shreveport/Bossier City. We go to Boomtown Casino a few times a year and they're always offering free rooms and dinner at least once a month. They have a great resturant called 1800 prime which has great steak and crab legs and desserts... mmmm.
There are a few more casinos like the Horseshoe and Sams Town that you can head to for more selection.
I hear the casinos in OK are a ripoff... where they charge $0.25 per hand for blackjack in addition to your bet.

There is always Bingo! LOL!
And the lottery and the scratch-off tickets, if you want to waste money.

We've been to Bossier City, LA and the casinos there are nice - but definitely nothing when compared to ones in Las Vegas. If you're used to Las Vegas, don't go with high expectations. I've only driven by Winstar on I-35 (just on the other side of the Red River in OK) and it looks like a DUMP. It's an odd-looking tentlike structure sitting in the middle of a parking lot.

Numbers
Does anyone know where I could find the stats on how many players go outside of Texas to gamble, be it by air, boat, bus or car?
