Currently, it's $1 for an hour after you pass the the gate and goes up from there. Previously, it was either $1 or 50 cents for under half an hour (to catch the people using it as a shortcut) then free for 31 minutes to an hour (for picking up/dropping off) and then $1 and up for over an hour.

You do have to go through the gates to get to the terminals, but you absolutely don't have to go through the gates to get through the airport.
I'm nearly positive I paid $2 just to drop my son off at a terminal a few weeks back.

In NY it costs $9 to cross the Verrazano bridge!

It costs between $5 and $5.50 at the moment to cross the Humber Bridge in northern England, which used to hold the world record for world's longest suspension bridge. It goes from nowhere to nowhere.

If you have no state income tax, then tolls aren't that bad.

Well, I was wrong about the times:
Rates for Terminal Parking

0 min - 8 min $2.00
w/ TollTag $1.00
8 min - 30 min $1.00*
30 min - 2 hours $2.00
2 - 3 hours $3.00
3 - 6 hours $5.00
6 - 24 hours $17.00

6 - 9 hours $8.00**
9 - 24 hours $14.00**
*first hour only
**applies to $14.00 per day parking only

But did you just push him out the door? lol

NY state has an income tax and a higher per gallon gas tax (9 cents higher) mainly so it can feed the civil service unions, provide generous welfare benefits and subsidize mass transit. The tolls are pretty similar to what you get in Texas. The roads are much, much worse.

I think that goes for any state with income tax; it's not just for the upkeep of roads, but it does pay for them as well.

This is the first time I've lived in a state with no income tax.

No not quite. lol I just pulled over to the curb, opened the trunk, hugged him and said goodbye, then took off. It couldn't have been anymore than 10 minutes max....

I'm just glad I have a toll tag now - I'm going to pick up my other son at the airport next Wednesday and will have to park this time. I can't wait to see him!!!
