Default Best ranch near to Metroplex?

Hi there,

I am not very familiar with the area. What would be the best safe "upscale" place to move? Looking for a small ranch with decent acreage. Max. 2 hrs driving time to DFW.

Thanks in advance.

A 2 hour radius would provide a lot of options I would assume. What do you consider "decent" acreage? Are you looking for an actual ranch or are you wanting a gated type community that has 5-10 acre lots?

Also, please advise where within the upscale range you want to be in as well. Gosh DFW is over 3500 square miles... can u narrow it if you want to be closer to Fort Worth or Dallas?

What do you want in a ranch? My family has one out by Stephenville, which is 2 hours from where I live (Irving) and about and hour out of the metro.

Thank you all for the replies. Some more details based on your questions:
2 hrs driving time: I mean actually to the DFW airport
We are looking more for the gated type lot (possibility to have couple of horses), lot of about 10 acres would be perfectly fine
Fort Worth or Dallas - here is where I need an advise. Safe place with good infrastructure (shopping), nice scenery (some rolling hills would be nice)
Thanks.

Ok, this narrows it down a bit. Can you please tell us what price range you want to stay within. We have LOTS of equestrian estates on the market listed up to 4.4 mil some with lots of water frontage ane beautiful scenery. How about the house on the property? what size? square footage? anything else we should know?
